operating system is more flexible and user friendly than that of the Windows OS. But its functionalities and features are somehow similar to Windows operating system. So the file loss situations in Mac are as frequent as that in Windows. Sometimes we delete some files considering them unnecessary and later we realize their value. Though file undelete process is very tricky in Mac but still we can recover deleted files on Mac using good file recovery software. Here we have some common file deletion scenario in Mac operating system discussed below:

Common File Deletion Scenarios in Mac OS:

Accidental Deletion: Files in Mac OS can be deleted due to human errors deleting a file using shift + delete keys combination and later feel the necessity of that file, erasing the wrong file instead of any other file, formatting/reformatting any other partition instead of any other partition.

Improper Formatting: Formatting/reformatting a partition in Mac operating system without taking proper data backup can also delete some important data. Installation of new operating system without proper data backup could be another reason for file deletion in Mac.

Unexpected Reasons: Files can be deleted due to unexpected reasons like sudden power failure or improper shut down of the Mac operating system while some file operation is not completed. Bad sectors in hard drive of Mac OS can also lead to file loss.

Crashed Storage device: If the storage device is crashed or physically damaged due to any reason then the files stored in it become inaccessible. A non-booting hard drive in Mac OS also makes files stored in it inaccessible.

Trash bin bypass: Deleted files using delete key are stored in the trash bin from where we can restore them back. However files may bypass trash bin due to exceeding in size and get deleted automatically from trash bin.

Error in Conversion: Error in file system conversion can also delete some important files in Mac OS. Files can also be deleted in Mac operating system due to error encountered in partition conversion.

Third party application: Critical files may be deleted due to improper function of third party.

After experiencing file deletion in Mac OS due to any of the above mentioned scenarios, it may seem that the deleted files cannot be recovered. But all the files deleted from Mac operating system can be undeleted using Remo Recover (Mac)-Basic Edition. But you should stop using the storage device from which you have deleted the files in order to stop the deleted files from getting overwritten with newly saved files. Because once the deleted files are overwritten with some new contents means they can never be recovered.

Following features of this software will help you to restore those deleted files on Mac operating system. This software scans the entire storage device from which the files are deleted to undelete those files. Files emptied from trash are also recovered by this software. It also recovers files deleted due to accidental formatting of Mac volumes. This software restores files from HFS+, HFSX and FAT partitions. You can view the retrieved files before actually saving them. You only have to download the software to undelete your files on Mac OS.

Hard drives are primarily used for storage and retrieval of digital information. They are the main data storage device in the computer. They are also called Hard Disk Drive (HDD). SATA, SCSI and IDE are some of the common examples of hard drives. Hard drives are frequently used for storing important files and programs. The minimum requirement of hard drive specified for Windows XP is 1.5GB. When a particular file is deleted from the hard drive, only the entry of that file from the file system is deleted, but the file still remains there in the hard drive. The deleted files can be recovered using any recovery software. In case you want to delete the files/data beyond recovery on Windows XP you must be pondering how do I wipe drive on XP? But to your amusement hard drive can be wiped completely to secure your confidential data.

Common scenarios under which Hard Drive Wipe is needed:

Selling PC/Laptop: In case you are selling your personal computer or laptop and you don’t want any other person to gain access to your important files, you need to wipe your hard drive in order to prevent your confidential data from being misused. This is because the deleted files can still be recovered until they are overwritten with some new data.

In the above scenario, data can be removed permanently from the hard drive beyond recovery by using Remo Drive Wipe. This software wipes data from the hard drive completely by overwriting them with new data, minimum three times. It unlinks the recycled files as well as overwrites the old data with garbage values. This process is also called disk sanitization or drive wipe. The software carefully sanitizes each and every sector of the hard drive with new data. It carefully selects applicable shredding pattern and international disk sanitization methods to wipe data from the hard drive. This software works on both 32 bit and 64 bit PC with operating systems like Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008. The complete hard drive, even the logical drive can be wiped using this software. It provides maximum number of drive wipe methods. It provides a simple user interface to erase your private data easily and safely. There are 9 sanitization standards used by this software for wiping the hard drive data. They are:

Fast Zero Overwrite

Random Overwrite

DOD Standard 5220.28 STD

German:VSITR

US Department of Defense (DOD 5220.22-M)

US Department of Defense (DoD 5220.22-M) + Guttmann Method

Peter Guttmann Secure Deletion

US Navy, NAVSO P-5239-26 – RLL

North Atlantic Treaty Organization – NATO standard

The above sanitizing standards and rewriting methods are suggested and approved by various Govt. agencies all around the globe. The process of overwriting data on the hard drive differs with the sanitization methods. For example the fast zero overwrite method will overwrite the data area with a fixed value (0*00) in each sector whereas, the random overwrite method encounters the data area with random values. To avail all the above features and make your confidential data on Windows XP secure you can download this software.

Microsoft Outlook uses PST (Personal Storage File) to save Outlook email messages and other Outlook attributes like tasks, contacts, RSS feeds, calendar items, etc. You may not be able to access MS Outlook if your PST files get corrupted. In some cases, Inbox repair tool freezes resulting in inability to access the MS Outlook. There are many reasons where your MS Outlook freezes and fails to operate. Some of the common reasons are mentioned as follows:

1) While sending large file attachments like zip file, rar file, etc. MS Outlook suddenly freezes and stops working.

2) If PST file of the Outlook reaches its maximum size of storage or while receiving a large file attachment, your MS Outlook freezes.

3) When you upgrade service pack, operating system makes some changes in the registry of the system, which may result in MS Outlook freeze.

You can use scanpst.exe, which is an inbuilt program file that comes with the MS Outlook to repair PST files that are corrupt. If your PST file is severely corrupted, scanpst.exe may not be able to repair the corrupt PST file. The severely corrupted PST files can be repaired by using PST recovery software. Remo Repair Outlook PST is the advanced PST recovery software, which can repair corrupt PST files effectively. The software creates a new PST file to save the recovered data in order to ensure the safety of the source PST file.

The other reasons for corrupt PST files are mentioned as follows: If your system is affected by virus, your PST files may get corrupted and become inaccessible. If you shutdown your system improperly, PST files present on the hard drive may get corrupted. There are also possibilities of getting your PST files corrupted when you transfer Outlook email messages over internet.

However, you can avoid or reduce the chances of PST file corruption if you follow some of the basic precautions that are mentioned as follows: 1) You can maintain regular backup of data and store it on external storage device so that even if your PST files are corrupted, you can retain it from the backup file. 2) You need to install effective and powerful anti-virus software in order to remove harmful virus that cause data corruption. 3) You can connect effective stabilizer to save your system at the time of power surge. 4) You have to shutdown your system properly in order to reduce the chances of data corruption.

Remo Repair Outlook (PST) is the user-friendly PST recovery software designed to repair corrupt PST files from Windows operating system. It can also recover email messages and MS Outlook attributes like contacts, calendar items, appointments, meeting requests, tasks, journals and notes. The software offers real time preview of the repaired items through Outlook style browser view. With the help of the trial version, you can be able to preview the recovery results prior to saving. You can download and install the trial version of the software on your system.

Hard disks are non volatile storage devices that can preserve data without electrical power. Even though the power is off, data is not lost from hard disk. This is only component in your system that can store and retain data. These disks are operated by running needles across a spinning disk. When hard disk are installed in your system it makes use of three components called jumpers, hard disk interface and power connector. A jumper is a connector that acts as an on or off switch for hard disk. Hard disk interface attaches disk to system. Power connector is used to connect hard disk into power supply of your system. When platters in a hard disk starts spinning, read or write head moves into a position from where it can read data from disk. Tracks are circles on the disk where data is saved on the magnetic surface of the platter. As hard disks are present inside your computer it is able to access and process the data faster than any other removable storage media. Hard disk are preformatted when they are manufactured. If they are not formatted, you have to format them while installing OS. To organize and locate data stored on hard disk, file systems are used. These control the directories and files that are stored on disk. The various file systems used by the Mac OS X are HFS, HFS+, HFSX, FAT16 and FAT32.

Mac OS X is also prone to corruption like other operating system due to corruption of volume header, improper shut down of Mac, Disk verify and Repair tool fails etc. These scenarios lead to data loss from Mac where you have to rely on mac disk recovery to recover lost data.

In previous versions of Mac OS, file consists of two parts i.e., data fork where data is stored and resource fork where file meta data, application information are stored. HFS+ can store two pieces of meta data i.e., creation date and modification date of a file. This file system is more concern how to allow files to store in multiple forks. Using Mac OS X 10.6, disk utility can be used to divide single volume into multiple volumes without reformatting original volume. The File Manager Utility takes care of reading, writing and storing data on physical media. This also collects data to retain HFS and controls files, directories and other items.

Remo Recover (Mac) Basic edition is capable of recovering files from HFS+, HFSX, FAT16, FAT32 partitions or volumes. This software performs thorough scanning to recover lost files from inaccessible volumes. This software has the capability to recover files from accidentally formatted Mac volumes. This utility has the ability to locate and recover files from accidentally deleted volumes. This tool is capable of recovering files from SATA, SCSI, IDE hard drives, USB external drives, different flash memory cards like SD cards, XD cards, MMC, Memory sticks, FireWire Drives, iPods etc. When you download demo version of the tool, you are provided to preview recovered data prior to restoration.

PST file is the data storage format provided by Microsoft Outlook. Outlook stores PST file on your hard disk. In addition to the PST file, the archived messages are stored in an archive.pst file in archive data folders that also resides on your hard disk. The PST file is located by default in “Local settings\Application Data\Microsoft Outlook” subfolder within your profile for Windows XP and 2003 computers. This location may be different with every version of Outlook and differ with version of operating system. When you are using Outlook with Exchange server the location of the PST file is different and is not stored on the hard drive. The PST file is stored on the server and network administrator may backup it often. The PST file that is stored on your hard disk may corrupt due to spyware attack, failure of the information storage device, defects in network devices, inappropriate shutdown of the system or improper exit of the application, using third party utilities to divide the large .pst file etc. Using best tool to undelete PST file from hard disk is the right solution.

Every Outlook item has many properties that define the data for that particular item. There are default properties provided with each item and are always defined for an item for eg.,such as Subject or Body for an email. Outlook users are allowed to add properties to items either from program code or user interface. These user properties are called named properties.

In order to reduce the chances of corruption of .pst file, delete all the unused emails and backup important emails along with attributes. You can even encrypt and set the password for the protection of the .pst files. You may use third party tool to divide the large PST file. Sometimes this process may fail that leads to permanent data loss rather than dividing large PST file. Hence, it is suggested to clean your Outlook profile by deleting unwanted emails and thereby PST file may not reach maximum size limit. Compact the PST file, which helps reclaim the unused space of PST file. Avoid sending bulk email messages at a time, which may slow process of Outlook. If you have more email messages with attachments, store all these attachments in a safe place by taking backup of them. When you recognize that you have lost Outlook items from Outlook.pst file, do not save or install any files on your hard disk. This may overwrite the deleted or lost data with new data, which makes recovery impossible.

Remo Recover (Windows) Basic edition helps to recover deleted or lost Outlook data from hard disk. This tool recovers files from hard drives, USB drives, FireWire drives, flash memory cards etc. This tool sorts the recovered files based on name, size, date and file type. This utility recovers deleted or lost data from hard drive in few minutes. You are able to preview recovered data when you download demo version of the software.

Photos play a very important role in the daily lives of most people especially in the present scenario when social networking and social media has gained so much of importance. Photos can be categorized mainly as two different categories depending on the file format and the compression type. Images captured using Point and Shoot cameras are usually of the generic type and are compressed up to a certain extent. These images include JPEG, PNG, GIF and many others. These images are of less quality and are compressed to a certain extent. Images taken using advanced DSLR cameras are of RAW format and are a digital negative of the captured images. These images have zero compression and hence are of top clarity.

Once images are captured they are usually stored in a memory card which is used in a digital camera. The type of memory card that is used depends on the digital camera that is being used. Usually SD card and CF cards are made sue of in digital cameras. These images are then usually transferred to a computer that is running on Windows or Mac for editing and sharing over the network. As there are various third party tools available for editing photos, it has become very easy to organize, edit and share photos both on Windows and Mac.

In Windows there are photo libraries like Windows Photo Gallery which comes with Windows Live and there are also other photo editing tools that come along with purchase of the digital camera. Mac by default provides a variety of photo editing tools which come along with the operating system. Some of them include the iPhoto library, Aperture etc. These photo libraries are really helpful for the user as they are easy to use and also serve the purpose. The very fact that Mac OS X provides applications that support media files has made many users especially photography enthusiasts shift from Windows to Mac.

However, photo loss is something that is common both on Windows and Mac OS X. Loss of photos could occur due to various reasons like accidental deletion, accidental formatting or re-partitioning of volumes, and due to many other reasons like Catalog record corruption or Journal File corruption. Files could also get deleted when they are being transferred from one storage media to another due to improper ejection of the removable media or corruption of that particular storage media. However, the deleted or lost images can be recovered as they have not been deleted permanently. This is possible with the help of a good Macintosh Recovery Software.

Remo Recover (Mac) Media Edition software is a powerful photo recovery tool that can recover deleted or lost photos from both HFS+ and HFSX volumes on Mac OS X. The software lets you perform digital photo recovery on Mac OS X with ease and recover all the deleted and lost photos. The software supports Mac OS X 10.5.x and above which makes it suitable for a variety of users.

Data loss occurs in hard drives due to various reasons like accidental deletion of the file, accidental deletion of a drive, formatting of the drive or partitions, corruption of the data due to file system corruption, software malfunction, files infected by virus, hard drive failure and power fluctuations etc. in such cases you can easily undelete files from hard drive using lost file recovery software.

When you accidentally delete a file form the hard drive it directly sends those files to Recycle Bin, later you can easily recover those deleted files easily from Recycle Bin. When your file is lost or bypasses from Recycle Bin in such cases It is possible to recover lost files by using good lost file recovery software.

How to undelete files?

The important criteria for selecting an application are check whether the software can recover data from various data loss scenarios including deleting drive or partition, lost partitions, reformatted or repartitioned drives / partitions. The computer stores different types of data using different file formats. Since you have different data like documents, photos, videos, music etc stored in your computer, make sure that the software supports recovery of these data stored in different file formats. Verify the software allows you to preview the recovered files before saving. Before installing the software check the software is a Read-Only application it does not involve any writing operation while performing recovery. Download the demo version of the software to check capability of the software in recovering lost files.

Stop using the hard drive further to store new files because it gets overwrites old data by new data

Connect the hard drive to a another computer as a secondary storage device

Download and install recovery software to the computer to recover lost files

Run the software , read the instruction given by the software to underlet lost files from m hard drive

Deleting a file is one of a major problem faced by computer users. Generally people assume that after deleting a file the file is lost permanently, but the fact is deleted files can be recovered back unless they are not overwritten or replaced by new values. Each file is assigned a pointer or index so when a file is deleted only this index goes missing making the operating system difficulty to search for the lost file. The deleted file is not visible to the user but it still persists on the hard drive. A file may get deleted due virus attacks, accidental deletion or accidentally emptying the contents of trash bin, hardware failures, software malfunction, uninterrupted power supply etc are few causes for data loss.

In order to recover deleted files from the damaged hard drive you need to go for a best Mac recovery tool which is completely meant to recover and restore the lost data. Many recovery tools are mainly designed to Retrieve Deleted Files Mac.

The fact is, a file from computer cannot be deleted but they can only be overwritten by new data. So it is advised not to save any new data during data loss situations because saving file will only overwrite or replace the old data. Files can be permanently deleted if they are overwritten by new values.

Deleted File Recovery Mac plays a major role in retrieving back the deleted files. The recovered files are saved on a separate disk. Recovery software must be designed such that it provides a simple user interface.
